Ajinkya Madhukar Rahane is an Indian and international cricketer he plays as a right-handed batsman. He is currently the vice-captain of the Indian Test team and the captain of the Mumbai cricket team. He has also played for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League in Indian premier league(IPL).
Rahane was born in 6 June 1988 at Ashwi Khurd, in Sangamner taluka of Ahmednagar district in Maharashtra. He started playing cricket at a young age Under-14 team with Mumbai team. He got first success for Mumbai in the 2007–08 Ranji Trophy season and scored 143 runs. subsequently he was played for the India Under-19 team for world additionthe 2008.
Rahane made his Test debut for India in 2013 against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. He scored 74 runs in his first innings and was praised for his composure and temperament. He has since gone on to play 78 Tests for India, scoring 4412 runs at an average of 44.12. He has also played 92 ODIs and 20 T20Is for India, scoring 2911 runs and 565 runs respectively.
Rahane is known for his solid defence and ability to score runs in all conditions. He is also a good slip fielder. He has been praised by many former cricketers, including Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid.
In 2014, Rahane was awarded the Arjuna Award by the Government of India for his achievements in cricket. He is married to Radhika Dhopavkar and they have a daughter, Aadya.
